Hot damn, this was a great aside to my day.

At first, I thought, "Ooh, Diaphenia's finally writing smut," and then it was just such a pleasure to get a mature conversation that did justice (sometimes more than the show does) to both characters.

I really think the way the show played that first sexual encounter was ambiguous. I read that as the two of them hooking up because they were remembering how good they were at sex, not necessarily to make a baby specifically, whereas stillscape read it as trying to make a baby outside the creepy spermbank. We both had justification, so this was my missing scene for how it went.

Love this! Especially this line: "Because now there was a deep, soul-crushing sense of need, a desire that made her destroy the starch on his collar and the gel in his hair." Yup, that hits the spot.

And it's just so refreshing to read these two not acting like complete idiots around each other.

I think they had to have had a discussion at some point, right? I mean, the finale implies they're dating, really, and surely they talked about how getting pregnant with sexual contact would differ from the original plan?

I really liked this, especially how you wrote Chris without making him a caricature. And I really liked the tone, it was mature and honest, which are two things that are pretty sexy in their own rights.
