Ah, this was great. Perfect mix of friendship and frustration, and I loved that, rather than setting up some big sting, they just dump his ass having decided he's simply not worth the effort.

Also, Shivrang at the end would've made me laugh out loud if I weren't reading this while on a too-early conference call.

Shivrang is one of the great wasted characters in this whole thing. As I was doing a rewatch to write this, I was reminded that he's actually super funny, and it's a shame we didn't get to see more of that.

Also, look, I think Schmidt, seasons one and two, is a great character. But Schmidt, season three? Not worth dumping with bees.

I finally just caught up on this season through "The Captain," and I'm really disappointed that the two of them appear not to have teamed up or even interacted much at all. S'why we have fic!

I heart this and I heart you. I thought the details were really lovely in this and I like how it wasn't just girl power revenge, but that Cece especially got to be vulnerable and unsure while also kick ass awesome.

I heart you too! I needed Cece to have an actual storyline here, not just pop up three days later like she did on the show, completely over everything, and WHAT EVEN IS THAT, SHOW, like they completely forgot she'd cancelled her wedding. And we never got a scene of her talking about her feelings, and I just couldn't, you know?

Aww, yay, ladies! I like this a lot and it far and away beats what the show has chosen to do with Cece and Elizabeth. I really love the moment when they realise he's not worth the effort of a grand revenge-fuelled breakup and just text him. Awesome stuff.

There is not nearly enough time spent with the ladies on the actual show, and I just love them a lot. And I need for Cece to have more than one friend, especially since her canon friend basically skipped out of town rather than be there for her after the wedding.

Which is sort of terrible of Jess, you know? But I don't think the show knows that.

I love this. This is everything I didn't know I needed from this show.

You need so many better things that the show is willing to provide for you.

This was fantastic! I'm always going to be a little sad that Cece and Elizabeth didn't get to be friends on the show. They would've gotten along, especially because, as you mentioned, Jess got the hell out of dodge with her new boyfriend instead of sticking around for her best friend, whose wedding was interrupted at the altar. (I'm still annoyed about that.)

Anyway, I loved that Cece and Elizabeth realized that it's a much better use of their energy to be friends than enact revenge. All of this is so much more satisfying than what actually happened. Great job!

It just... really bothered me that Jess took off. Like, come on, your best friend for most of your life just had the most screwed up wedding in existence, and you're just going to take off? I know you're excited about a boy, but you are still a person, and you have responsibilities, and UGH at least take her phone calls! It wouldn't bother me half so much if the SHOW realized she was being a terrible friend, but I don't think it even occurred to them, which bothers me.
