I am taking the "when I realised what this was" to mean there is some clever hidden meaning in this fic that I am not getting - can one of you pretty please explain it to me?!

I spent several days begging someone to write me this fic (Ann and Chris tell Leslie and Ben their plan to move on a double date). I never expected someone to write it for me, so this was the best surprise.

Oh! Haha, I think I was overthinking it. I thought there must have been some sort of reference to something, perhaps to do with whatever Ben whispered into Leslie's ear. Silly me! Well thanks for explaining.
