TV meme - day 10
A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving:
Roswell
When I first saw the trailer for "Roswell, new show soon to appear on danish telly!" I was pretty convinced that this was NOT a show for me. From what I could tell, it was about this emo guy, who was pining over the girl next door with the big puppy-dog eyes. Apparently he was an alien (which in my book was the only redeeming part about him) and he had this bitchy sister and a strange looking friend and I was like; Ehhh.... BUT then came sunday and Buffy, The Vampire Slayer was on. I was on the couch feeling lazy, so when Buffy ended I just kept on watching and 45 minutes later I had watched the entire first eps of Roswell and it was pretty good, at least good enough to have me return the following sunday.
After three or four eps I was totally hooked. I was still a bit ehh about Max and Liz, I hated Isabel and Kyle, but I loved the weird looking Michael, the funny sidekick Alex and the quirky Maria. As the show progressed I actually ended up loving all the characters and the show were a MUST WATCH for me and my friend T.
Early in the show I started shipping Michael and Maria with a passion. When the season ended I was devastated and thought the producers were a cruel bunch of a-holes only put in this world to agonize me and mine by tearing M&M apart in the season finale and then make me wait several months before season 2 started up. I remember dreaming about this couple and dreading what would happen in S2, I was such a fangirl!! Luckily time gave me some perspective and calm and when S2 finally arrived I was functioning quite normally again LOL!!!
My passion for the show stayed right until the end and I was heartbroken when they decided to cancel the show.
