MASSIVE RENTHEAD ALERT!!
well, its a major blizzard outside right now, kaela can barely open anything on her crappy computer because it might shut down on her again, and im bored as shit. that means its time for a journal. thank you contralto_aria for inspirirng me to write this BECAUSE im bored :)
i guess i should recount my week because, well, ive nothing better to do hahah
monday: we had no school because it was a teacher workday lmao. like, all i did was lay around and talk to kaela hahahaha. but of course you guys knew that. what else is new?
something AMAZING happened though. i watched RENT: filmed live on broadway for the first time and lemme just say, it touched something in me haha. like, no lie. rent is my NEW favorite musical...idk what it was before but im saying what it is now hahaha. by the end of this journal you will be able to tell how rent has changed me lmao
tuesday: i had crappy school hahaha.
1st pd was like, a joke. we just sat there and pracitced for this workshop we were going to have on friday with all teh middle schools that feed into our high school.
2nd pd with kaela!! hahahah okay, we were talking about this story that we were SUPPOSED to read i guess and OF COURSE me and kaela didnt read it hahaha. but once again, what else is new? well, the teacher turned off all the lights and we all had to face one direction and we began talking. now, i honestly COULD NOT what the hell that conversation was about because i had no freaking clue hahahah. all i got out of that was: caves, light, ak-47s, 5 yr. old african children, and cloning sheep. see how much that made sense? it was in this pd. that me and kaela recognized that we only go to school because we have to hahhaha
4th pd was choir AGAIN and i think we learned a new song hahaha. i really have no clue. it was a while ago lmao
6th pd was a sham. but when is it NOT? i dont even feel like talking about it because it pissed me off lmao
wednesday: ONCE AGAIN NO SCHOOL BUT THIS TIME IT WAS BECAUSE OF SNOW!!
now that ive gotten THAT off my chest, onto my day hahah.
i got RENT! from target that sunday so of course, i watched it. lemme just say, you may THINK youve seen something meaningful and great and just, a work of pure genius! and so have i: a very potter musical, sweeney todd, according to greta (a GREAT indie movie with hilary duff that i just got), the harry potter books...but lemme say, YOU HAVENT EXPERIENCED LIFE UNTIL YOUVE SEEN RENT
like, idk why it makes me feel like that but honestly, ask kaela. rent is one the best things on the planet haha. my whole day was consumed by rent hahahaha. kaela gave me the filmed live on broadway cd (its not a legit cd so we got it offline hahah. were resourceful like that) and i listen to it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. its like, my life now hahah. i wish i couldve been old enough to see it when it was on broadway when it first came out because it wouldve been AMAZING!!
hahah the longer the day went on the more me and kaela talked about rent and then it got to the point where we were on youtube and found all this "unseen" footage of the obc (if you dont slang like WE do, that means original broadway cast haha)
lemme just break down some of the things we talked about (remember, im only doing this because im majorly bored)
the characters in rent are as follows:
mark (obc: anthony rapp)- OMG this man is gay as SHIT hahahahaah. now dont get me wrong, i LOVE him because hes AMAZINGLY talented but i mean, really, RENT is this mans LIFE AND SOUL. lemme give you an example: at the end of the last show on broadway before it was closed :(( the current cast and anyone who has ever played a role in the show came on stage and and sang seasons of love. anthony rapp was one of the only two obc there. and too be honest, i geniunely felt bad for the man and im a bitch. translation? i dont feel bad for people. i MAKE them feel bad hahahah. but seriously, he has NO job now! hes been in every damn revival of rent hahaha. lemme go wiki this RIGHT NOW so i can tell you everything he's been in thats rent related:
- he was in the rent workshop BEFORE it got picked up to be a complete show
- he was the original mark in jonathan larson's SMASH HIT muscial, rent.
- he played mark in both the BROADWAY and OFF-BROADWAY porductions of rent
- "Rapp has embraced his role as an unofficial spokesperson for the musical and has given numerous television and print interviews regarding the show and its development"
- he came back to rent on july 30, 2007 for a six-week run goodness knows where
- returned to broadway's rent through october 7 (2007) at Nederlander Theatre
- he was in the MOVIE adaptaion of rent (2005)
- when the obc had a 10 year reunion show (all the original cast came back and put on the show for fun. like, i say for fun because they were joking around and forgetting some words and just, genuinely having a good time. they didnt have costumes or props or anything) they had NO COSTUMES OR PROPS RIGHT? this man had his MARK SCARF! i mean REALLY ANTHONY RAPP!?!?!? WHEN NO ONE ELSE HAD COSTUMES YOU HAD THAT DAMN SCARF AND VIDEO CAMERA!! WHY??!?!??!

mimi (obc: daphne Rubin-Vega)- okay, im not really sure how the hell she got this part because i cant STAND her voice. i feel like renee goldsberry (played mimi in the closing cast) was WAAAAAAAY better than this. lemme link some stuff and show you what i mean:

its thursday, there was no school because we're in a blizzard thats supposed to get 20+ inches of snow. i know that might not SEEM like alot but all we ever get around here in like, 2 inches MAX. thats why people are acting like the end of the world is here hahah
