Yes as a canadian it can be an event few and far between to wish you were an american. I know what you are feeling half the time i have no idea whats going on with the prime minister altho we are still going thru election stuff because no one can agree on one canidate so the options are suck it up and take whos elected or get a coalition. But I can forsee Obama trying to do what he promised to his best ability lets hope America lets him. There is always gonna be talk about how he is black and all but who cares he knows what he wants to change and that america needs that change

This is the first time I've felt passionate about a president. That might have something to do with the fact that this was the first election I ever voted in. I was one of those people that believed that my vote didn't count - But when things started going to hell with our economy and what not, I felt like I needed to get my voice out there - So I registered to vote (and not a moment too soon at 41 years old!) and voted in my first presidential election. I think the other part of it is being part of history being made. I didn't vote for him because he's black though - I voted for him because I felt like he was the best candidate for the job. But being alive to see the first black president being sworn was awesome - I can't deny that!

Tuesday was the only time since moving here that I wished I was back in the US -- at least for the day. I hate that I had to put up with Bush for the last eight years and now I'm missing what will hopefully be an inspiring four (perhaps 8?) years with Pres. Obama.
