[Saïx sits outside his rather scorched and broken down home. It looks as though he has been doing repairs, but that certainly isn't the reason he turned his PCD on. No, he has something else on his mind.]Residents of Adstringendum, what do you know about hearts? More specifically, the lack of a heart, and how to return a heart to someone who is ( Read more... )

In my world its possible to resurrect people and have them return as Zombies... Or replace things lost with magic.

[He's been thinking about it a lot, and he's not sure it would work, but he could perhaps artificially create a heart using Runes...But it might not work the way that Siax wants it to.]

I'm not well versed in it, and I'm limited on my ways of researching this, but it was possible back home.

Are you sure? It could be possible for you to replace a heart with magic?

[Wow, Hanna, you just got 300 times more interesting to Saïx! Good job.]

I'm pretty positive. It might take a while though. Though, I think you would only get the fundamental uses of a heart if I did it.

[There wouldn't be added feelings, Siax, is what he's trying to tell you.]

When people are resurrected like that their emotions tend to be muted, if not non existent until they get to experience situations that require those emotions, but even then, very muted.

That sounds similar to our existence now. What benefit would a heart be, in that case?

[He's keeping it in mind, though.]

I see no reason not to be. The information that could potentially be gained is worth giving some up.

I-In my world, people who don't have a heart are ... well, d-dead. You can't survive without one.

That seems to be the case in many places. Where I am from, it's a different matter - sometimes.

The only beings with no hearts in my world are Hollow. They are human souls who have lost their hearts because of deep regrets, and they prey on human souls for food. The only way to help them is to have a shinigami slay them with their zanpakutou, which purifies them and sends them onward, where they should be.

Interesting. They sound somewhat similar to Nobodies. Is there no way to give them back their hearts without killing them?

We are not exactly killing them. They are already dead.

I see. I am not dead, so my situation is rather different.

A heart is a very delicate thing. Did you break someone's heart and now want to make it up to that person?

[...Because, clearly, Ryoji couldn't have understood this any other way. xD]

No. [And his tone shows how ridiculous the mere thought of that is.]

And hearts are more resilient than you may think.

I guess that depends on the person, doesn't it?

The strength of a heart can differ between people, it's true. However, a broken heart is a metaphorical thing, and completely unrelated to what I'm talking about.
