You got to speak your piece and you did so very well. With an ego like that, I'm amazed you got a polite response. It's funny that he couldn't mention the other professor who agreed with him. Enjoy your profession, you sound better suited to it than he to his.

Wow, he's an ass! I can't believe that he wrote that letter and after you confronted him about it, that he responded to your letter the way he did.

I am glad that you had a chance to prove him wrong, though, and that letter was very well written!
