Political discussions in the workplace

I like the people I work with. All of them. But we do have a couple of people who do that "I'm forwarding this to all of you because it's IMPORTANT!" kind of emailing from time to time, and it's often some kind of conservative propaganda. As in, already debunked falsehoods, misleading insinuations, and cowardly smears. I sometimes respond, but ( Read more... )

Thank you! Feel free to use it as spam ;-).

The stuff about McCain gets quietly mentioned in ten-second blips on Fridays and then dropped. Then time goes by that is filled with all the latest rumors and innuendo about whatever Democrats - or at least non-Republican - are being demonized this week. And yet there are still people who can say the words "liberal media bias" without their skulls bursting into flames from the nuclear-level cognitive dissonance of it all.

There are lefties who do it, too?? Damn! Where? I have spent literally decades inundated with electronic conservadroppings, and the only things I've seen from the left are occasional fact-checking rebuttals.

"electronic conservadroppings"

I love it!

Great reply to the conservacrap spam. I get dozens of those each week, not from co-workers or friends, but my father and father-in-law. I like to keep peace in the family, so I smile-nod-delete, and when it comes up in person, just say that our views don't mesh. And leave it at that. When I'd really like to beat them with a common-sense wiffle bat.

I found this post doing some random friend-of-friend-ad infinitum-hopping and it was so awesome that I had to comment! I've found it very difficult to strike the balance between truth and humor, and this succeeds admirably.

Also, I friended you - let me know if that's not cool. Thanks!
