my roommate made a little documentary about this subject.
a single mother of five got sent to prison the past year for working illegally and the oldest daughter has been forced to support all of them using student loans.

i participated in a march and vigil not too long ago. there a girl spoke of her mother being "detained" in houston(i think) because her mother had some sorta inner-state taxi type business. she got into an accident while driving some people without any documentation. the cops came and she went to jail just because she didn't ask her passengers if they were legal or not.
i nearly cried, it was such a painful story for her to tell. i don't think i could walk a mile in her shoes.
when i was younger i always thought if you illegally crossed into the u.s. and got caught, they'd just send you right back. i always heard of it happening to a friend or their parents/relatives.
now they just throw you in your own personal prison and consider you a terrorist.

is the documentary any good? regardless, i'd like to see it sometime.
