Auction: Coyote Totem Bottle Pendant

Oct 30, 2010 16:18

Description: Up for bid is one Coyote Totem bottle pendant. This pendant is filled with naturally shed coyote fur from a rescue center (Indiana Coyote Rescue Center), and layered on top are fragments of white sage leaves. When the bottle is unstoppered, you can get a nice fragrance of real coyote fur and sage. At the very bottom of the bottle is a tiny pre-canine from the lower left jaw of a coyote skull, from an animal that died of natural causes in the woods and whose skull was later found. The bottle is strung on a nickel-ball chain featuring a Tibetan silver howling coyote charm. These totem bottle pendants are a sort of modern augmentation of the poppet or medicine bag (these concepts occur across cultural and traditional lines), and a good source for meditation or contemplation of the animal and connecting with its energies. All ingredients in this bottle are scavenged from natural sources, and no animal was harmed in its making.

Starting Bid: $5, auction ends on November 7th. Item will be shipped with delivery confirmation at my expense. When bidding, please reply to the first person's bid so they are aware of your bid and have an option of increasing it if desired.

Special Offer: If the bid goes to $15 or over, I will include big, generous fur samples of wolf, coyote and red fox for your crafts. All fur samples offered here are naturally shed fur collected from the enclosures of these animals residing at rescue centers (either the Indiana Coyote Rescue Center or Mission: Wolf), and are then frozen for sanitation purposes. If the bid goes over $20, I'll throw in a nice piece of petrified wood. If it goes to $30 or over, I will give you the option of selecting from a sampling of some of my specimens, such as fossils, skulls, bones and other such things (to be determined).

A Little About Me: I'm an inveterate scavenger and crafty person, and fellow member of furhideandbone. I'm also going through a similar predicament with medical expenses and other such things, so I can deeply sympathize. I'm just here to help out a fellow 'Yote person and FH&B member. I hope to provide other items for bid as I go through my collections in preparation for moving into my own workroom so I can more efficiently take on my taxidermy studies, artwork and specimen collecting.

Thanks!
