[Dry amusement.]

Elemental affinities aren't that hard to understand, are they?

...Elemental affinities?

They call them 'types' here, but it works pretty much the same. Water doesn't do well against lightning or grass. I'm not surprised that earth doesn't work against grass either.

[The proper names for things, Kisame hasn't bothered to learn them]

...This is gonna be pretty cliché, coming from a guy, but...

Doesn't size matter? Whether or not there are affinities shouldn't affect them that much, when they're twenty feet tall.

[It was a good thing Chansey didn't see the way Rocky was KO'd and Snow called him just an animal. She would be really upset with him. Aerith is at a loss of words, but something will come out of her mouth.]

....no, Snow. The pokemon are just as intelligent as humans. Chansey has proven to me so many times that she is much smarter than she seems. I would never consider her as an animal.

[She stays quiet for a bit.]

Don't take your anger on the pokemon. It isn't very heroic. Even a hero...loses his composure...you are human, after all.

[He sounds frustrated.] I'm not angry at them. Why does everyone keep saying that?

[A pause, and his gaze drops.]

I just... decided I was done failing people a while back. And if they're just like the rest of us, I guess I was wrong.

But it sounded like you were taking your anger at them by asking if they're just animals.

[She listens quietly to him thinking about what she should say to him. Her voice will sound lighter.]

It's a good goal to have, but you shouldn't beat yourself over it either. Defeat doesn't always mean failure, you know. Sometimes it's good to be pushed down from time to time especially if you want to become stronger and that rules also applies as a trainer.

Now, a quick question, what did you learn from your battle against the Bulbasaurs?

[His first reply is aimed at the second point she made, and prefaced by a shake of his head.] No, it's not like that. I'm fine with losing once in a while. Just... it starts to feel a hell of a lot more real, when things get intense like that. Feels more like failure than usual.

[At the question, he tilts his head a little.] I've gotta know who's on my side and who's not before I start giving orders, or I'm gonna get my ass handed to me by two angry plants.

[She was witness to the pitiful display herself. She would have said something before, but even she didn't doubt that he'd have the common sense to realize that Water and Rock were both weak to Grass. It seems his lacking passed her expectations.

But that feeling of deflated failure coming from Snow was painful in a way she could relate to. She knows it. When she first lost to Miles in a Pokemon battle; when Miles got his Prosecutor's badge before her... But Franziska von Karma was not good at comforting words. Neither did she particular need or want to use comforting words on him. He was a big boy, after all. And one she will tolerate no foolishness from.]

...Keep training and make sure you're fully prepared. Preparation is the key to perfection.

I won't put up with any needless, navel-gazing introspection on your failure; not when you can be bettering yourself.

You're right. I've gotta-... I don't know. I guess I've gotta figure out how to work with the Gyarados, or I might as well let him go. So that's my next step.

It doesn't matter how good the witness is, or how well their testimonies work for the prosecution... If the prosecutor can't command the courtroom and make it fit, the court will dissolve into chaos.

In that vein, a prosecutor and a witness cannot build up their case in the middle of a trial.

The case and its groundwork must be done beforehand. The trial is but the place to show off how well witness and the prosecutor work together.

...See the connection?

...Y'know? You're not bad at this, when I can figure what you're talking about. I mean, this 'advice' thing.
