I'm finished! ^o^ Now I feel all warm inside. Anyone want to join me for a cuppa and some zucchini bread? <3

Accio, Love

They were yellow and fluffy. Looking at them could melt your heart. A Death Eater couldn't resist their charms.

Gwenolynn sat under a nearby tree, watching the little family of ducks waddle across the street to a pond on the other side. The brood followed their mother, happy and oblivious to the world around them. Gwenolynn sighed, just as happy and oblivious. It was warm and the world was a perfect place, though a little bit lonely and she wished she had someone to share the moment with.

Just then, her peaceful thoughts were interrupted by a loud BANG and she jumped.

Down the street appeared the Knight Bus, hurling itself around like usual except for one big difference -- it was hitting everything in sight. Post boxes, geranium bushes, dust bins. Everything. And it was heading for the poor, unaware family of duckies.

Gwenolynn gasped and jumped to her feet, her hands fumbling in her robes for her wand. She grasped it and pulled it out... a little bit too enthusiastically because the wand flew out of her hands and into some bushes. Gwenolynn ran towards the bushes to retrieve it, but it was too late. She screamed as the family of ducks scattered in fear before the Knight Bus's giant wheels.

Gwenolynn covered her face so she wouldn't have to see the horror. She heard the shout of a man's voice followed by a large crash. When she looked up again, the Knight Bus was smashed into the tree she'd been sitting under, and a young man was standing across the street with his arms full of fluffy ducklings.

He crossed the street towards her and deposited his fuzzy bundle safely in the grass. "Never thought I'd have a need for 'Accio, ducks,'" he said brightly. "I'm Ian, and you look a bit spooked. Sit down for a minute, why don't you, while I check on the driver?"

Gwenolynn shook her head, "No, I'm fine. I'll go with you. Just give me a second to find my wand." They walked around the broken Knight Bus to the other side, where the door was open and two men were climbing out.

The younger one was elbowing the other, an old man. "That was wild, weren' it, Bern? Jus' wild!"

"Thought I was okay to drive, Dan," he replied. "Only had a bit at the Leaky Cauldron."

"A bit! Oh, boy, Bern. I saw you top off the 'ole bottle, I did!"

"But the bus... the bus usually..." Old Bernie trailed off, looking confused.

"Well, as long as everyone is alright here," Ian interrupted, "I'm sure the Ministry will be along soon to clean this up." He stepped onto the bus, looking around.

"Ah ha!" Gwenolynn heard him exclaim from inside. She, Dan, and Bernie crowded around the door to see what Ian had found.

He was pointing at a switch next to the steering wheel and flipped it. "Seems you were set on 'wreak havoc' rather than 'avoid accidents,' mate."

Old Bern took off his glasses and rubbed them. "Guess I should get my prescription checked soon."

Shortly after, some Ministry wizards showed up to clean the mess. Ian and Gwenolynn gave their statements and were allowed to leave. They walked off together down the street.

"That was a nice thing you did today," she smiled gratefully, "for the ducks I mean. Thank you. I'm Gwenolynn, by the way."

"No problem. I detest animal cruelty and hate seeing cute things in danger." He smiled, and Gwenolynn thought that he had a very nice smile. "Listen, Gwen," he continued. "Can I call you Gwen? Or do you go by Lynn? Perhaps Nolen?"

She laughed and returned his smile, "Gwen is fine."

"Well, Gwen. I've seen you around a lot, especially at the vegetarian cafe, and I've been looking for the chance to say, 'Hi,' and, well... talk to you and get to know you better. Would you -- if you're not busy, I mean -- would you fancy having a cuppa and some zucchini bread with me downtown?"

"Really? Absolutely!" They exchanged a look that said more than words could, and Gwenolynn couldn't help but think that Ian had managed to Accio more than just ducks today. She looked back over her shoulder at the pond where the ducks were playing. They looked so happy... fluffy, and yellow.
