Bands I forgot...

Saw these too. I have not been to very many concerts in over 10 years, so most of the shows I saw were in the late 1970's and 1980's, with my really rabid concert-goings ending by the mid 1990's. The ridiculously high price of tickets is what caused me to stop. I am also not a big fan of "reunion" shows, where there is no new output by the band ( Read more... )

I agree about reunion shows. I saw Bauhaus for their first reunion (1998, I think), and I couldn't get into it. I KNOW it would have been so much better back in the day...you know, before mall goths were around!

I have to say, I saw them in 1998 and they all seemed asleep. I was excited and had a good time, but it was a low-energy show compared to the recent one I went to months ago (was it last year?) So surprises do happen.

Also...anybody see Siouxsie and Budgie at either of their Creature tours, last year and I believe it was 1998 when they played with John Cale? Both times, fucking AMAZING. New music, new sound, new everything.

Also, saw The Cure play fucking Roseland when Bloodflowers came out and I could barely speak afterwards it was that fucking good and intimate and energized. It was just as good a show (for them) as during the Prayer Tour in 1991, although that one boasted Love & Rockets, Shellyan Orphan and the Pixies so you can't quite compare the two.
