Book list 2006

If I was the actual conscientious type, I would have kept a list of the books I read this year as I read them, with links to the Amazon pages, but I am a lazy sod. Besides, that's really self-indulgent. Like putting up a list of the books I read this year DOESN'T make me an attention whore ( Read more... )

I enjoyed it so much I read it twice. What makes the novel work for me is the matter of fact way the utter brutality is described, and that the supporting characters, like Luke and Tran, were so fully realized.

Yes!
The Bible is one of the greatest science fiction/fantasy books every written. Although I still prefer Ursula Le Guin overall.

It's interesting that the myths of the Greeks and Norse are treated as interesting stories, while essentially the same kind of material drives a belief system. It's all in the timing, I guess.
