So.

On Saturday, February 17, the Loop Lounge in Passaic is having a Melody Bar "reunion," but evidently, it is only open to people who attended the Melody pre-1993. The details are here, and it seems like the party, which runs from 5:30-10:30 PM, is a private party, only open to those age 35 and over. The article said that the idea is to ( Read more... )

Thank you for posting this, Jim. I think it's really lame that it's for people 35 and over only! I spent many, many hours at the Melody, so why am I not welcome at an event such as this???

I guess I'll go straight to Contempt that night then.

Well. I wouldn't be able to make it anyway since I already have plans, but it's a shame that us youngins can't participate. When I think of The Melody, I think of you, not Matt Pinfield. He was already gone before I had even heard of the bar.

It looks like it's only open to people who attended from the Matt Pinfield era.

I haven't heard anything by them except "My Soul Unwraps Tonight." Have fun.

One of the things that bothers me is the announcement of DJs they have for this: Matt Pinfield (fine, he DJed there for years), Andy Prescott (he DJed there for mey years too, but Ed Wong?

I went to high school with Ed, and although he DJed a show on WRSU for a long time, he never spun at the Melody.
