[he'd gone on his own to search for the key to the door. There was probably some mechanism or clue around here that would reveal said key's location but the lack of light made finding it needlessly difficult. It wasn't as if there were torches here he could light either...
The feeling of someone else in the tunnels with him causes Richter to stop and look around, confused and a little disoriented]
[ooc: GHOSTZAMA FOR ME 8|b sorry I took so long lol]
[There's nobody there Richter~. Nobody that he can see anyway, but he be right to believe that he was no longer alone. There was someone watching him most curiously in the darkness.
It's not like he was targeted on purpose, Richter just happens to be in the area when Terumi was getting bored.
...Let's keep disorientating the mortal for a little bit and move around him.]
[... this is worse than running into Phantoms. At least for those, Richter could pick up on their mana signatures easily enough. This was just strange. Was it a monster native to the island or something else entirely? ... Did anyone else ever notice it?
He took a careful step back, right hand going to rest on the hilt of his sword in case anything (or anyone) tried to attack him. Better safe than sorry]
[Hehehe what a serious looking warrior we have here. and he was backing up towards him. If he could laugh without giving himself away, he would right now.
Let's give the poor blind warrior something to point that sword at. Let's knock some ceiling rocks down just in front of him.]
[the problem with training oneself to have good reactions is that jokes like these are impossible to avoid. Richter doesn't quite draw his weapon as he shrinks back form the debris though]
What?
[but the slightly surprised and confused expression should make up for it. Did the quakes compromise the tunnels more than Richter originally thought? Ahh the joys of having what amounts to archeological experience]
[That's right! Come here so he can wrap his snakes around you!
As Terumi sends out his Ouroburos, Richter will suddenly feel a strange invisible force immobilize him. Someone, or something was slithering through that precious head of Richter's, digging. Show me what you got in here, tough guy!]
[Richter freezes with a surprised grunt. Like anyone in this situation would probably do, he tries to struggle against the binds and the feeling of something going through his head.
The most prominent memory is of the deep red view of the Ginnungagap and the sight of a young blond boy dressed in a lab coat and again dressed in blue. There are a few more memories of people and places but the blonde haired boy is the most prominent figure... Really, who else would you expect to see in Richter's memories?]
[A boy? A son? A friend? No, definitely a friend. Usually he would know what to look for, but since Richter was someone new to him, he had to do some digging before he finds something of interest.
Let's try and focus on just the memories of this boy, hm? Why is he so important to you, Richter...?]
[courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality, Hazama, Courage is the Magic that Turns Dreams into Reality]
[Richter isn't just going to stay idle while something rifles through his memories like this. It's the ultimate breach of privacy, he had to deal with the memories enough as it stood. He didn't need his own ghost to be brought up so forcibly.
There's a few memories that seem to stick out in Richter's mind, but if we're talking about why he's so important...
All of it has to do with the young boy in the lab coat. From the time when they first became friends, the easy camaraderie and understanding between the two up until they arrived at the Ginnungagap where Aster was killed--]
Not yet, not yet! Not when things are getting good! Discrimination, belonging. You've had it rough didn't you? Is that a feeling of guilt there, Richter? Ah, crap you're actually trying to fight back now.
No, he's going to keep going. Just a little more. Come on, let's really replay your friend's last moments! Let it fester inside you like it was just yesterday!]
[that is a lot of guilt and Richter doesn't need you rubbing it in his face, Hazama- oh, too late.
One would think that two years later the memory would have faded a bit but it hasn't. The memory of the failed negotiation with Ratatosk, the Summon Spirit's anger, a bright light ('Ain Soph Aur' another memory provides) and then Aster--]
[Negotiations gone wrong? And in doing so, you fail to protect your only friend, is that it?
How tragic. You're going to see that image of your friend dying, several times, before Terumi finally gives Righter control again and disappears from sight. He was grinning maliciously at what he had found. This man had a wealth of memories in there. Very exploitable memories, just waiting to be tapped.]
[when Richter finally gets control of himself, the only thing he could do was stagger and collapse against the wall. He raises a hand to his face as he tries to get his breathing under control.
The feeling of someone else in the tunnels with him causes Richter to stop and look around, confused and a little disoriented]
