CHARACTERS: anyone DATE: September 27th (day 12) RATING: PG-13 or so. SUMMARY: The second mission is underway, where the source of the earthquakes can also be found.
Erik & Crew: Again, go wild with the tag order.token_vengeanceOctober 4 2011, 00:04:04 UTC
[The lack of light is going to be an issue. Erik can feel metal, though--ore running through the walls, faint tracks ahead--a door, a lock. It gives him enough spacial reasoning to get himself through, at least.
But everyone else? He isn't so sure. Banshee's scream should work well for sonic, but the mutant would have to be careful not to break their ear drums in the process.
Taking a few steps forward into the darkness, he waits for everyone to catch up.]
If there's no magickin', it won't bring the tunnels down on us.
[Which was what Eliot had been doing as he looked around. So far, the structure of the tunnels seemed steady. If it could survive several tremors, then it could afford having a door ripped out.]
Do you sense anythin' else attached to the doors?
[Erik's ability to sense metal seemed to be the only scout ability they had for the unseen unknown behind the doors.]
Mystique. Two minutes to find a key won't kill us.
[Except if it might. Normally he would have ripped the door off the hinges without a thought...but this place? Played by different rules. There could have been organic objects set to go off if they are too violent.]
I don't, but they might have anticipated my power.
[Erik heads to a corner of the room, shoving a hand into a crevice, cutting his hand in the process as he sense something--the key. He uses his powers to start tugging it out.]
Be careful, everyone, and be on your guard. There was a two-headed creature guarding the entrance, so there may very well be something else just behind this door.
[Charles' fingers twitch against the arm rest of his chair as he communicates with the rest of Erik's group. Not being there himself is grating on him, though he knows he should be grateful he can provide them with any help at all.]
Erik? Perhaps the safest way to handle this would be to have everyone stand back whilst you unlock and open the door with your abilities. If another creature is waiting there, being so close to the door would not be the best of ideas.
[ Having someone else's voice in his head was admittedly, up there on the list of things he didn't enjoy. The last time it happened was like constant stereo feedback but at least without Charles in direct proximity, it wasn't as much of an issue.
Mostly it was just kind of distracting.
Giving his head a shake in an attempt to clear Charles' voice, he trained his attention back on the door, waiting for Erik and the key. ]
Then they could've anticipated any of our powers. [ But that doesn't stop him from keeping trained a second away from firing off a blast of electricity. ] I'd offer to go on through first, but without even knowing what's on the other side..

Anyone have any capabilities to deal with this?

[He looks a little worried. What if it was some kind of trick? Something like this couldn't be that easy, right?]

Gritting her teeth at the sound of Charles in her head, Raven follows behind Erik steadily, preparing herself for whatever lies ahead.]

Charles--can you sense anything past it? Further down the line--besides the metal tracks I'm sensing.
[Erik gets the key and floats it towards the door, slowly slipping it inside and turning.]
[ooc: I'm also asking the mods if there will be a third level. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN CONTINUING IDK.]
