Gardenia Apothecary repeats October 18 2011, 21:04:25 UTC
[Homura's being keeping an eye on the harbor, waiting for the Merchants to arrive again. She wants to stock up on Grief Seeds - who knows when she and the rest of the Puella Magi will be able to escape, and who knows if the Merchants will continue to return? Better to get as many as she can now, then.

She approaches the Apothecary, and withdraws a Grief Seed from the void behind her shield, holding it up for the Merchant to see.]

I need more of these.

[the Merchant's head turns quickly to Homura, as if startled, but she returns to her usual posture soon enough. So the little miss was back for more of her wares? She extends a hand to Homura; how many more did she want? What would she be willing to pay with?]

[She tilts her head at the Merchant, wary as usual. She has escape tokens, this time, but she will not trade them. Those are for Madoka.]

I need as many as you have. What do you want in return?

[oh Homura... Didn't you figure out from the last time? She has as many Grief Seeds as you can pay for.

The Merchant looks at Homura, as if waiting for her to hand over the token. Once she sees that the girl wasn't willing to part with it though...

She reaches next to her to pull up a covered dish of ash and a small branch with it. The supplies needed to keep ghosts at bay were dwindling quickly... A close look at the surroundings would reveal that the incense and wards around their little market area has already been replaced a couple of times. Holding out the branch for Homura to see, the Merchant then points towards the complex. There were trees out here, but the branches from within the forest held more power and would better suit her needs.

Just the branches would be enough for Homura to earn the Grief Seeds she desires. Burning them to ashes would just be extra work]

[She will keep asking for as many as possible until she gathers enough tokens for herself and Madoka to leave, or the Merchant runs out. Bets on which happens first.

Homura follows the Merchant's movements with her gaze. Into the forest, then, for branches. Not a place that is safe for her to travel alone, then. She will have to ask for assistance once again. Grief Seeds, though, are worth breaking any of the vows she had once made to herself. The only one that matters is her vow to protect Madoka.

She nods in understanding, and bows.] Thank you. I will bring them.

(ooc: I am right in assuming the dogs and things in the forest will kick her ass if she goes in there alone, right? This is a good way to force her into CR, haha, but I don't want to accidentally be wrong!)

[the Merchant nods. Despite the lack of proper facial movement, the way she holds herself seems a bit melancholy and not nearly as eager and energetic as her appearance the last time]

[Good luck]

[ooc: there's a new spirit in the forest; Cernunnos. If she breaks a branch when he's nearby, she'll be chased out of the forest the first couple of times or he'll actively attack her so if you want to deal with him instead of the monsters...

If you don't want to deal with Cernunnos, then you can just have him in the background with an oppressive atmosphere. 8C He doesn't like you breaking branches off his trees so carelessly AND HE WILL MAKE SURE HOMURA KNOWS THIS]

(ooc: Okay, one more question and then I'll get on with a log! If I do decide to have Cernunnos attack, what is he able to do? I looked around but I didn't see anything about that. ;;)

[ooc: he's suppose to be the Guardian of the Forest so he usually doesn't actively attack people. The recent string of ghostly activity has him riled up though so he'll be more prone to charging and attempting to gore or stomp out anyone who does damage to his forest. He'll also try to confuse passerbys and make it so they'll get lost or always redirect them to the exit in a 'we don't want you here' sort of gesture. 8|b ]
