SUMMARY: While attempting to cook breakfast in the cafeteria, there's a little snag... known as an Echo.
(
This would be much easier if you'd just go away... )
The same thing couldn't be said when he took the fresh vegetables and gathered eggs to the kitchen. The first thing he heard was shouting, loud shocked noises, and a roar of flames. "Shit!!"
Running in to find that beautiful stove top bursting in open fire, Eliot grabbed the nearest pot cover, a natural action given how familiar he became with this kitchen, and tried to smother it by throwing it on top.
It went out. Relieved enough, he didn't look to see the cause before rounding on the kid with an annoyed growl. "What do you think you're doin'?! Could've burnt the whole place

Gau stepped aside to get some oil and a new pan, and then glanced back and reached for a cutting board as well. The knife was the tricky part - he wasn't sure if the ghost would have the same reaction to him that it had to the other man or not - but he took a deep breath and then reached for one.
Nothing happened. For whatever reason, apparently, Gau was allowed to cook?
He shrugged his shoulders and got to work.
"For breakfast, I'd usually just use a little oil, some pepper, maybe soy sauce and mirin, depending on the flavor of whatever else I was making. Of course, I would usually make fish for breakfast as well, but I was going for simple this morning for myself and Raikou-san."
Too simple, for himself, as he'd gotten chastised.

"The place is pretty well stocked," he said as he moved around behind Gau, getting the equipment out as needed since he was the more familiar one with the kitchen. For some reason, as long as he didn't have the intention to cook, it appeared that the ghost was alright to let him roam about.
"Soya sauce is this way... and mirin's kept below the cupboard there." Several cooking wines were placed beside it as well. "What else ya need?"

Gau shakes his head a little.
"That's what my mother used to say anyway. Making things pretty is a big part of how we cook, of course, but a lot of that is presentation, not making the dishes themselves complicated. It's all about how you cut things and display them properly..."
He's getting the vegetables set up to cut as he speaks, movements confident and calm.
