[Eliot knew most of the places on the island by now, especially the areas around the greenhouse, and that house was not there the day before. Which meant it required investigating. So in he went, wary and ready for an attack from any direction.
The slamming shut of the door drew a quick glance from him and prompted him to trying the knob. Locked, obviously. Grabbing his knife and flipping it over into a more comfortable hold, he moved in deeper into the first floor.]

[ no answer, until--
a tug at the hem of eliot's shirt, and there is a little boy hanging on the other end, maybe five or six, blonde, cute in the way children often are. he appears quite out of the blue, with nothing to herald his arrival. ]

[That Eliot didn't hear the boy's approach should have been warning enough, except this was only a little boy, barely out of kindergarten. He has a weakness to children like that.
Not giving the strange appearance more than a second's thought, he crouched down to the kid's eye level.]
