[And here comes Shepard, armed with a rifle in her hands and one on her back (that one being more primitive--she borrowed it from her roommate), two primitive pistols strapped to one thigh, and her Carnifex on the other. The second she's in the door, her gun's trained on Saren now too.

She's not surprised to see him. Oh no. She knew Nihlus would cave. Just like any of her squad would cave for her, under the same circumstances. Not that it's any excuse to let Saren in those gates. Though her piercing glare doesn't leave Saren, her words are for Nihlus:]

You wanted to talk.

I thought you'd bring the rest of your team.

[He doesn't move his gun from Saren's head, keeping him in the corner of his eye.]

I want to propose an alliance.

Absolutely not.

[Before Shepard can even say yay or nay, Miranda's already arriving, pistol in hand and cautiously staring at Saren. She'll throw a look at Nihlus too, for good measure.]

We have enough problems as it is being here, in the past. Bringing him along can only make things worse.

[Thane says nothing upon his arrival, considering that he only knows Saren by reputation, but the meaning of Shepard's text message was clear enough. For now, he remains a silent-but-armed presence by the doorway, watching for cues and ready to do whatever is needed.]
