Well it wasn't really so much going BACK and adding the series finale (I'm not sure if they did or not, to be honest), but in the commentary during the ending, they KNEW that this would be the series finale, and so they purposely filmed the scene knowing it would be the last episode aired. Whereas other shows just said "screw it" and dropped everything because they had already been canceled.
That was the original ending, and would have been the same no matter what happened business-wise (I asked Bryan if he would have taken off the Jaye/Eric bit if they'd gotten renewed so that he could have a cliffhanger of sorts, and he said no). But yes, it was very smart of Tim, Bryan and Todd to make the whole season have one major arc and a nice conclusion. :)
I miss the show like crazy. I swear I saw a commercial for Tru Calling last week. They'd bring that back and not Wonderfalls? What?
Anyway, the creators are so forward thinking and have so many ideas that I wish they'd at least try to get the ideas out by writing or having someone write some novels or some such. That would make me happy.
I'd totally buy Wonderfalls novels. I mean, I also buy Buffy novels, Farscape novels, Quantum Leap novels, and Forever Knight novels, so this isn't a big surprise, but hey - if all of those series could get novels out there to be bought by folks like me, why not Wonderfalls? Now that I've seen more than 4 episodes, I'm hungry for more! Well, obviously I was hungry for more, anyway, but... you know what I mean.
