1. Wal-Mart may be evil, but they have the best deals. You'll get stuff there for a good deal cheaper than the grocery stores in the area. I've heard Aldi is also good for deals but I've never been.
2. The essentials: bread, peanut butter, water, milk, cereal, pasta. That's all I eat here, really. Occasionally I buy frozen chicken when it's on sale, or hamburger meat--which is wonderfully versatile. Also, hey, Ramen noodles. The chicken kind is the only good kind, but they're like 10/$1. Awesome.
Is this your Nana that works at the credit union? I can't remember if that's what y'all call her. Let me know though; I feel I ought to send her a card, and I can talk to my mom about it.

It's harder for me to grocery shop cheaply because of my wheat allergy, but I have been going to WalMart to get groceries and even clothes (they have cuuute capri pants right now) and it's helped out a LOT. Beenie Weenies are even cheaper there! lol
