So. I started doing this a while back and then I forgot about it. But here it is, a Chris Gaylor mini-primer and picspam! \o/
This is Christopher James Gaylor, born in April 11, 1979.
He's really pretty.
He's also accepted his feminine side.
He is the drummer for the band The All-American Rejects. He joined the band in 2002. Mike Kennerty and he were a package deal. He joined the band a month after Mike.
TAMA: How did the All American Rejects come to be?
Chris: They (Nick and Tyson) were from Stillwater, OK, which is about 30-45 minutes north of my hometown of Edmond, where I still live. I wasn't playing in a band at the time, but my friend Mike was playing in a band called Euclid Crash. They were looking a new drummer, so he gave me a call and wanted me to play with them for a couple of shows. So we practiced a couple of times, and did some shows. And the second and last show that I did with them was with the All-American Rejects. I guess their drummer wasn't working out too well, and they liked my playing. They actually asked Mike to join the band first, because they were looking for another guitar player. That's the reason Euclid Crash broke up, because he did most of the stuff in that band. And then they had me join as soon as they had time to have me actually rehearse with them. We practiced for 2 or 3 days, and my first shows with them were CD release shows for their self-titled debut album. This was about a year after they had recorded that first album, and I toured that entire record with them. At first I came on just to play shows, but we all got along really well, so it turned into a band from there. (

They are a TEAM! \o/
They even took matching tattoos to prove it.
Here they are with Patric and Pete. AAR toured with FOB back in 2006 (the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour). Also, the Warped tour in 2005.
They want you to drink milk.
I don't know if i'm the only one, but I keep staring at Mike's hips and Nick's stupid pose. Oh, how I love these guys.
Chris is also a founding member of the punk band These Enzymes with Mike, AAR's rhythm guitarist.
These Enzymes was founded in 2003, when AAR was touring UK. They have released one EP, Henry.
Here is their myspace.
Mike and Chris currently live in Edmond, Oklahoma together. No, seriously. They are roommates.
Chris also, apparently, has (had?) a pet weasel named Ben.
I kinda love this next picture a lot.
*swoons*
I told you. Pretty. <3
Anyway.
Something interesting that your bio states is that success actually brought the band closer together. Success can often break the ties that bind, what do you think it was about the chemistry of the band that had the opposite effect?
Chris: I don’t know..I shouldn’t answer that one because I pretty much hate everyone. Nah, just joking. Let’s ask the guys.
Nick: Because we can all afford the same high caliber hookers.
Chris: Yeah…I’ll go with Nick’s answer on that one. Nah, I don’t know, we just spend so much time together and we’ve experienced some success together so that’s really a bonding experience.
Tyson: I love you Man!
Chris: I love you too Tyson!

Oklahoma's strong Midwest marching band tradition is one reason Chris is playing drums today. "I learned to play in marching bands, which was amazingly fun. I played quad toms. That's where a lot of my playing comes from. I started band in 6th grade and took lessons until 8th when I did jazz band stuff and took lessons with an actual kit. My father was a drummer when he was in college, and we'd sit around and listen to Buddy Rich, Philly Joe Jones and Gene Krupa and look at the great pictures of their old vintage drums. I also listened to Dave Grohl a lot. He was kind of the Bonham of my era. As a matter of fact, my other favorite drummers were also playing Tama - Stewart Copeland, Bill Bruford, Kenny Aronoff - and that probably had a lot to do with my decision to go with Tama. The drums always sounded really good and consistent."

TATTOOS
Chris has 32 tattoos: AAR's band logo on his right breast (like the other three members of AAR), the
Hickey logo inside his right forearm, a snare drum on the inside of his right forearm, a panther on the inside of his biceps, a ship on his upper right arm, a wheel on his right elbow, a sparrow on his right forearm,an upset clown face on his right wrist, an anchor on his right forearm, a small black heart on the outside of his right thumb (like bandmember Tyson Ritter. The two decided to get the heart tattoo together on Chris's birthday one year), the
Tournado logo on his lower right leg, two sparrows holding a ribbon across the front of his clavicle, a spider on the underside of his left armpit, an umbrella on his left forearm, a spider web on his left elbow, a rooster and pig on his feet, and a bee on his left knee. (source wikipedia.)
HERE is a video of Chris getting a new tattoo on his knee. He also talks about his tattoos.
Tyson and Chris both have similar heart tattoos! That they took together! ♥ ISN'T THAT THE SAME AS BEING ENGAGED? :D
HOBBIES:
He can kick you in the face! He used to do karate, and, well.
Q: Have any of you gotten into new hobbies as a result of the success?
Chris: I took up falconry - the sport of kings.
Q: So you have a falcon you're training?
Chris: No, I don't have my own personal falcon, but my falconry teacher lets me use hers. She has several red-tailed hawks, she has a peregrine falcon, she's got a couple more than that.
Q: How'd you get into this?
Chris: I had just decided I wanted to do it one day; then we get to the airport and there's a guy behind me with a falcon on his arm. I was like, "That's a sign and a half."
Q: How's it coming along?
Chris: It takes like two years to get your falconer's license. It's kind of like an hourly thing, like school. Then it takes eight years to get your master falconer license. (

Okay, so the next is the only picture I was able to find of young Chris (also, Hi Mike!).
And dude, I don't even know.
Chris: This isn't candy but I used to eat all the jerky stuff. It would come in a can and instead of chewing tobacco it would be like, shaved beef jerky. I'm from Oklahoma. Every kid loved it - that with your IBC Root Beer that looked like a beer. When you were a little kid and you had those in your hand, you felt like a man. (
