In which I muse about the ending of Dragon Age: Origins. Spoilers ahoy.
Call me a hopeless romantic or a sadistic person who likes having a demon-god baby on the loose, but I always end up having my PC (who usually is a guy) do the ritual with Morrigan. It breaks my heart every time (and creeped me out once, I'll explain later). On fan-forums and such, they always talk about the option of Alistair getting it on with Morrigan but I rarely see it about the player character who romanced her.
It may just be that I think Morrigan is the best romance option out of the four (Leliana's a close second) but my male characters always end up with her. Except one that ended up with Leliana. Anyways, it just strikes me how much the scene changes just on whether you romance Morrigan or not.
If you romance Morrigan, then her offer and the night that follows seems like a 'goodbye' between lovers. In a sort of creepy way, but. God. I feel so bad for my character when she leaves. Then, if you haven't, it turns into a...ritual rape, I suppose you could say. Totally different vibes, no?
Then there's the option of having Loghain have sex with Morrigan. Which is just. Really weird. "You would rather have sex with a desiccated corpse than me?" Oh, Morrigan.
On a side note, I know that people have characters romance Morrigan, why isn't there more fanart for that? Alistair, Zevran...both of them get a lot. Leliana has a couple (and no lesbian!Leliana, either). But no Morrigan. I'll have to do some fic to change this.
