why aren't His arms reaching?

oh goodness. this weekend i drove to georgia and back... wanna hear the whole story? it's kinda long, i must warn you.

i decided at the beginning of last week that i really wanted to see miranda, who was one of my very best friends in mexico and i love her a lot. i called her up as i walked home from my first final and she said she had the weekend off from work and so it'd be perfect. she also told me that she had moved in with a different friend since leaving mexico. i told her i'd call her later that night and get her address and stuff...

well, she didn't pick up her phone. and i never talked with her again before leaving for georgia. i decided, what the heck, i'll just go to savannah. that's where she lived before. maybe she still lives in the same city...

i left my house around 4:30AM friday morning. it took me 10 hours to drive to savannah, not including the hour and a half i was in stand-still traffic and the hour i slept in the backseat of my mom's tribute.

i got to savannah and it was pure st. patrick's craziness (think mardi gras). apparently savannah is home to the second biggest st. patty's day celebrating after ireland. who knew? i finally decided that miranda would be impossible to find, if she even lived there. this brought me to decision time: drive an hour south to the beach or drive three and a half hours to atlanta to see one of my family's oldest friends, angela? i chose the second. after all, driving home from ATL is much faster than up the coast.

i ate at ihop with angela and her six month old son koshi (he actually has some crazy long nigerian name but who even knows) and bought two boxes of thin mints from the girls scouts selling outside. amazing.

miranda called me saturday morning, apologizing because her phone had died and she had ended up working friday night at her boyfriend's brother's bar until 3AM. so i drove to see her... in augusta, georgia, two hours from atlanta...

then i spent a half hour trying to understand miranda's crazy directions... "get off at the exit with the starbucks..." i almost crashed into a warped guardrail trying to look for the starbucks.

we ate seafood and walked around and it was pretty much beyond amazing to see that girl. i left at 11PM to drive home. after all, i had to be at m&e by 10:30AM to work a serving double. i drove nine hours and stopped to take an hour and a half long nap just inside the ohio border.

if at all possible i never want to drive through virginia again, especially at night or in the rain. it's terrible... way too curvy and dangerous. i thought i was gonna crash about 45 times, no exaggeration.

point being i drove 25 hours and 1718 miles this weekend. and now i have hospital training this week for eight hours a day, monday thru wednesday and possibly thursday. so i'm gonna take a nap and such :)
