not to be all, "HAVE CHILDREN, DAMNIT!!"...in fact, not necessarily saying that you should... but most of the time, the screamy children are the less disciplined ones...the ones that their parents let get away with everything... generally, if you teach them that being loud and screamy like that is bad, then they won't do it...at least that's what I hear...and am going to do my best to do with julie...because, yeah...screamy children = evil, eardrum peircing badness... anyway...that's my two cents...was more just saying it to have a bit of the other side of the children argument going... :)
I agree with brinney. I love children but sometimes I want to kill certain ones. Parents are spoiling their children these days worse than ever, which makes for screamy little brats. I was never allowed to scream or throw tantrums. I learned that screaming was bad because if I was ever hurt and people were used to me screaming, no one would ever come to see me. Anyway, tangent there. The most important thing is that you and your husband completely and totally agree on the situation of children. It's probably still a long way off for you, but that is one of the most important things to completely agree on in a marraige... maybe the most. Othere things you can compromise, but babies are not something to compromise on.
My sister picked me up to take me shopping the other day and we had a long conversation about children. Interestingly enough, she doesn't want them either - at least not anytime in the forseeable future. We were both talking about how our cousins had children so young (when i say young, i mean like 15 or 16) and how we've seen that pan out and everything, etc. and we both sort of came to the conclusion that it has probably soured our view of having children. I guess we've just seen the side of having children that isn't pretty, that isn't fun - and maybe we're taking that for reality. Also, my mom is sort of a whack-job and we've sort of attributed that to her having kids too young. Although I do know that there are people that can take it. I know that in my case, I want to be able to do everything I want to do before I even think about kids. And, with the world as overpopulated as it is - getting an orphan from China or Russia sounds like a much better deal to me. ;)

I hate how society makes us feel like we need to be this or that (especially in your case).
