I'm only a year out of college and I still don't think I've let go. This is the second "back-to-school" I've gone through where I'm not going back. It's hard. And this year pretty much everyone I'd been friends with will graduate. It's tough to let go of the person you used to be and the life you used to have. Good entry.
I just graduated in May, and the back to school was diffiult for me, since I was in college for three years, for a 10-month program, since I did it part-time. It isn't easy to get out to the real world. Change is difficult, but I am ready for the new challenge. I should say, Nixon and I are ready for the challenge.
I don't know what to feel about this entry. It started out and I thought "oh, light-hearted reminiscing about college, neat". It continued, and was not so light-hearted anymore. Then comes the "releasing" of that old life. And then the last paragraph puts a smile on my face.
What a strange ride. (Also: Change SUCKS. Big time.)
Oh me, I can definitely understand that feeling! My unwillingness to say goodbye to college almost caused me some serious problems. The mistakes made as a result of that are still reverberating through my life today. It's so hard to move on, and yet while you're there, it's hard to see how much fun you're having.

And then I think back to all the drinking, etc., and realize that, in some ways, I'm glad those days are behind me.
But yeah, the transition sucks big time :(
