I have to disagree. There's a modern myth that the world consists of leaders and shirkers. In fact leaders generally learn by watching others, and sometimes they step forward when someone else is botching it. Sometimes they even do a fair job after having first tried to give advice to the person they saw messing up. Also there's a deal of truth in the other old saw, "Power corrupts," especially in this society with its dichotomising of leaders and non-leaders. People get swollen heads very fast - heathenry unfortunately is replete with examples, partly because of the macho model of leadership many equate with heathen values - and sometimes people just get stupid as they get worn out ( ... )
