When I left work today, the thermometer in the car read 72. Since we leave for Gulfwars in 4 days, I checked. Looks standard. Low 40s at night, mid 60s for the high and a 30% chance of showers mid-week. That's the 10 day so, the last half of the war could vary. For those not going, it probably sounds normal.

Watched the Olympic opening ceremony tonight. It didn't have the "Oooph!!" of the Chinese games but the artistic element was fantastic. In some areas China beat Canada but in others our neighbors to the north came out on top I think. Greatly enjoyed the show ( Read more... )

Our annual weekend at the lake (Fall Creek Falls) got canceled for bad weather. We had or re-do weekend this past weekend. We had a few less people due to last minute changes but it was fun. A weekend of nothing to do but hang out in the cabins, eat, dink, play games, watch stupid movies and maybe work on a project. I do love this weekend. Every ( Read more... )

For all those who appreciate the move "A Christmas Story" check out the news. (sigh) I've never thought that I was exceptionally bright as a child but compared to some in the country I was a friggin genius. Still, at least they provide entertaining reading.

It snowed in Texas last night and this morning. Am I the only person wierded out by that? Upper 30s-40ish here. Snow to our east is not so uncommon. The do get such more often then we do. Houston? That just seems wrong to me. This early in the season especially.
