The samurai of the Edo period (late Kamakura to Tokugawa in some texts) held the cherry blossom as the highest form for life one could possibly hope for. To blossom so beautifully and die so quickly after making such a big impact was to live the perfect life in an imperfect world...
This world was called ukigumo, literally, "floating cloud," but the "uki" character could also mean to be cheerful and happy; it meant that the world sucked and you were going to die anyways, so live it up and make your mark while you're young and die while you're still in bloom...and not as a withered old has-been.
By stubbornly clinging to life in spite of his myriad gunshot wounds, 50 Cent grievously insults the entire concept of ukigumo and the sakura (cherry blossom trees) by persisting in the continuation of life processes in a city filled with the reminders of the ideal life.

in macon, ga, the cherry blossoms represent the rich, white elite who developed most of the areas in the county, thus bringing them great prestige and power for several generations of their family.
each year, they hold the Cherry Blossom Festival b/c of all the work they've done and the 200,000 trees that have been donated to the city.
they paint the streets pink, our parking tickets are pink, the dogs are painted pink, men wear bright pink sport coats (apparently, i'm not man enough to wear pink), and 10's of people come downtown for the festivities.
oh yea, and their damn spooge gets all over the cars and buildings, sending people's allergies right to the forefront.
