AIM issue in my corner

I wonder what it could mean if someone is said to be logged in for almost 24 hours, but hasn't been shown in over 12 hours as being idle? Now, I know this person hasn't been sitting at the computer ignoring me for that long. I am thinking their computer at work was left on. But that doesn't explain why they're still shown as being active

actually they may have set (accidentally or on purpose) the option that makes it so you never show as idle)

Could just be a glitch. Yahoo messenger once showed me as online for two whole weeks.

It turns out the computer didn't shut down all the way.
