The tide is not high

As it turns out, we won't have a flood at work. Some water got into the parking lot, but not much. It was just enough to freeze. I know this sounds sick, but I was sort of hoping for a flood. Not a big flood, but enough so we could ride in the rowboat once. But it's not fair to wish for something like that because people live around here. Although ( Read more... )

It's not just the idiots down in WV that live along the river... We have *3* rivers that flood up here in Pittsburgh...so you can imagine the damage, especially when all of the mills and small towns are usually along some sort of waterway.

Every time the river here floods, people act like it's the first flood ever in the history of theuniverse, and the people who live near the river demand money from the government because they were too stupid to take out insurance. The government never pays up, so the idiots go to court and end up paying the court costs.

And everyone ignores the one old guy who put his house on stilts after the 1956 flood.
