No...actually i hadnt really done any thinking on the subject. Its just that it was 7 in the morning and i was procrastinating writing my 2 page paper that was due in 2 hours

I hate to disagee but "biological tendencies"? This is an actual anthropological debate and I'm afraid you are on the losing end of it. Its been proven over and over again that our biology has nothing to do with gender roles.
I'd type a big long paragraph about it and include some examples, mostly from some long dead eastern cultures...but I just hate you too much.
Here's an Idea...stop thinking and drink beer. It's done wonders for me.

well...sorry but im a psych major and it has been proven that through thousands of years of evolution we have in fact inherited innate biological responses to situations that are ingrained in our brains. There have been a number of experiments proving this information correct.
But...since there is an anthropological debate i guess we are on different sides of conflicting scientific views. But, since im a psychology major...and you have taken 1 course in anthropology...im pretty comfortable in the fact that im accurately stating this based on fact, and not the misconstrual of information on my part.
I am begining to think that despite what i ever post in my journal, you will undoubtatly find someway to disagree with me though. So your post, and this one, really dont matter.

Man I love this thing.
First I'd like to address the anonymous poster that still hates me. Without a name, you still don't matter.
Secondly, Jake you misunderstand my argument. And I'm only trying to encourage a little healthy debate. But you are still wrong.
"through thousands of years of evolution we have in fact inherited innate biological responses to situations that are ingrained in our brains"
True. My point is not that these "responses" do not exist and ultimately dictate our behavior, but rather that they have been proven to have nothing to do with diversity beteen male and female behavioural patterns (Gender roles). I haven't taken any 400 level anthropology courses, but it's pretty textbook. Gender roles are dictated by culture, not biology.

P.S. Psychology is an ambiguous, worthless field. Mathematics is the basis of all life as we know it. And I still rule.
