Simple life

Oct 09, 2012 22:00

Pairing: Kai/D.O.
Length: ~2,5k words
Rating: PG
Genre: AU, fluff
Summary: What if Kyungsoo had never been a part of EXO...?

Repost from my aff account, this story is kinda old now - So this is my first story. As I said in my profile, I'm French so my english is not perfect, therefore please don't be rude about the stupid mistakes you could find and just tell me about them so I can improve! (:
The plot isn't really complicated and the story is kinda lame, it's mainly something I did because well, we all have to start somewhere?
Hope you'll enjoy it anyway, it's really fluffy and -very- unrealistic because I'm that weak ok ;v; (I'm kinda scarred of posting it here tbh OTL)
PS: thank you Piccu for all your help ♥

Five hours.

It has been five hours since Kyungsoo arrived at the place of the fan sign, five hours of insatiable wait. The place was so crowded that he couldn’t even see the idols he was waiting to meet since they first were revealed to the world, six months ago. It was really noisy and the boy felt a sort of headache starting to grow in his head.

- “Dammit, why am I so short…” he muttered while trying to stand on his tiptoes, but sadly failing.

Almost all the fans were girls and he suddenly felt quite uneasy about it. He never really assumed the fact that he liked boy bands over girl bands.

- “They’re talented, isn’t it what matters?” he tried to reassure himself.

Suddenly, the mass seem to scatter and the six handsome boys finally appeared a few meters away from him. He felt his heart beat a little faster; he was seeing them, and soon would be right in front of them, giving his photo book to each member with shaking hands waiting for them to sign it. He couldn’t help but blush at this thought.

A few minutes later, he was on the front of the line. His heartbeat was so loud that he couldn’t even hear the fans’ screams anymore. Finally, he was told to step forward and meet the first boy of the tables’ line.

But he was so intimidating. His dark hair skillfully pushed up, revealing a flawless forehead, his nose slightly wrinkled in a playful expression, and finally his lips, so full and perfectly drawn; it was none other than Kim Jongin.

- “So people that handsome really do exist” he couldn’t help to think.

He has waited for this moment for so long. Actually, Jongin was his secret guy crush. But nobody knew about it, of course. How would they react if he told them that a boy made him go dizzy, and was actually an idol he have never met and will probably never meet, and absolutely never have any kind of relationship with?

The boy smirked, and suddenly Kyungsoo noticed that he was also staring at him from the start. He missed a heartbeat and stepped forward to the table. His photo book was already opened at the younger boy’s page, all wet because of his moist palms, but still there.

- “H-Hi, my name is Do Kyungsoo, can you please… sign here?” he awkwardly asked while putting his booklet on the table.

He stared at the idol for what seemed hours, observing his concentrated expression while tracing the words on the smooth paper. Feeling his legs give way, and his hands shaking so much, his cheeks and forehead so red and hot, did he have a fever?

Gosh, I feel so stupid… I’m just like all those girls.

- “Are you ok?” asked the boy.

Kyungsoo suddenly awoke from his thoughts letting out a small noise, and felt bad about it right away.

- “Y-Yeah, thank you”

He finally looked at the table. Jongin was already done, but while looking at the neat black handwriting, he noticed that there was a mistake: next to his name, it wasn’t “hyung” but “dongsaeng” that was written in round characters.

Ah, I guess I should have told him.

He shyly raised his eyes to Jongin and noticed that irresistible smirk he used to display during the performances, and couldn’t help but widen his already so round eyes. They were looking at each other right in the eyes.

Suddenly a body guard appeared, breaking the scene.

- “Other fans are waiting, please move on” he rudely asked, or at least said.

Kyungsoo quickly took his booklet and moved to the next member, Oh Sehun, looking a last time to the handsome boy before rapidly greeting.

A few minutes later, his booklet was covered with dark handwriting and his head full of memories. With a bright smile, he left the place, and couldn’t help but glance at Jongin a last time while walking toward the exit.

Was it me whom he was looking at?

One hour later Kyungsoo was finally home.

He lived in a small apartment, second floor, in a rather calm street, alone. Literature student, the only thing you could find in that small two-rooms flat were books, books and books. K-pop was his guilty pleasure, and he shamefully kept his collection away from anyone’s eyes. But actually it was so tidy and clean that you could hardly tell it really was a young 19 years old student’s apartment.

It was already 15:00 PM. Closing his eyes, he could feel his heart still unusually beating and his cheeks getting red every time the memories of Jongin’s perfect face appeared in his head. He smiled and opened his eyes, going right to the shower; he had sweated so much today.

Once he was done, he sat a few minutes on the sofa, still wet, eyes closed, hot water running down his soft white skin.

I don’t want to ever forget this day.

He caught his backpack and emptied out its content on the table, took the booklet and put it on his dry lap covered up by a stripped towel, taking a few minutes to look at the signatures and the kind words with a smile. He stood up, about to go put on some clothes, when he suddenly noticed a small paper on the table, under his wallet.

I don’t remember taking a note?

He picked it up and opened the note roughly folded, which obviously hadn’t been done by him, and nearly had a heart-attack.

- “What the-” he nearly cried.

His eyes were about to pop out of his head. There was a message written in black bold letters, apparently with some kind of marker, very quickly as he could say.

meet me today @ 17:00 PM

Hallyu café

hope you come

Could it be…?

The feelings that left him a few minutes ago were rushing again and he promptly took the signed booklet to clear any misunderstanding.

But he was right.

It was none other than Kim Jongin’s handwriting.

He was all dizzy and fell on the sofa, not really understanding what was happening anymore. He slapped his face several times and looked again at the paper now crushed in his hand.

- “But it’s all a joke!” he yelled with a hysterical laugh.

Anyway, he couldn’t help but put his best clothes that day before rushing down the stairs of the building.

- “I’m so delusional” he told himself with a pathetical laugh.

It was 16:48 PM as he entered the small café. There wasn’t a lot of people, actually, only four or five. Very intimate, he thought.

The interior was classy but still relaxing, all lines, black, and white. The coffee odor floating in the air was really soothing, with a small touch of sugar due to the colorful donuts displayed behind the glass of the frontage.

Surprisingly, even if he had never heard of this “Hallyu café”, it wasn’t that hard to find; some quick search on the internet with his skillful fingers and he already had the address. And it was only 15 minutes away from his apartment, which was even more convenient.

He sat at one of the vacant tables, and buried his face in his small hands.

- “What am I even doing here…”

Suddenly, the bells of the door rang. He looked up, and could feel his face burning.

It was Kim Jongin.

The young idol quickly glanced at the coffee shop, finally stopping his eyes in his direction, a small smirk forming at the corner of his mouth.

He was looking at him, and none other.

He silently approached the table, simply pulled the chair and sat in front of the other boy.

- “I didn’t think you would come” he laughed while leaning back.
- “To be honest, I thought it was a joke” Kyungsoo merely replied.
- “Then why did you come?” the boy asked.

Kyungsoo could only blush even more at this observation. Yes, why did he come? Maybe because he’s just dying of what he felt was love for Jongin and his delusional fan boy side has just taken his brain over today.

The younger boy was staring at him, which only contributed to his discomfort.

- “Don’t you think it’s unfair?” he finally asked, still staring at Kyungsoo.

What is he talking about?

- “You know everything about me, but I don’t know anything about you. Life is so unfair” he sighed.
- “You know my name” he stated in a breath.
- “What’s telling you that I actually remember your name? There were tons of fans today” he scoffed with a laugh.
- “Do you give those small papers to all your fans?” asked the older boy while raising his eyes toward the other’s playful face.

Jongin replied with what seemed a sincere laugh this time and came closer to the shy boy.

- “Well that’s right, you’re the only one who had this privilege” he simply said.

Suddenly, Kyungsoo just wanted to slap him in the face. How dared he being so arrogant? He clenched his fists under the table, hoping for his sudden anger to disappear. Sure he’s an idol with tons of fans, but what was that, playing with their feelings?

That’s disgusting.

But the boy noticed his sudden tension, and a blush appeared on his cheeks. A blush. Kyungsoo couldn’t believe it, and he felt his heart speed up while his fists relaxed.

- “I’m sorry, it was stupid”

Did he just apologize to him? Kim Jongin, an idol known all around the world, on which he had too many dreams to remember, was standing in front of him, in a lovely coffee shop, just the two of them, and he apologized.

Kyungsoo suddenly burst into one of his hysterical laughs.

- “It’s all a joke, right?” he asked while trying to calm down.
- “No” Jongin calmly replied after a few seconds “I really want to know you some more”

Is it real? This day must be just a dream, like all the other ones he had before. That wouldn’t be new to him.

- “I’m not interesting at all, you know” Kyungsoo sadly sighed after his sudden burst of laughter “Just a simple student like tons of others. Why are you so interested in me? Your life is so much more exciting!”
- “You can’t understand”

And Jongin had an expression the boy has never seen on his face before. His eyes were lost somewhere behind him, a blank expression stuck on his flawless face.

- “I envy you, you know” he added in a breath “If you see someone that you want to know more, is there a problem? Is there that wall that makes everything more difficult?”
- “I think… I can understand”

The waiter suddenly appeared behind Kyungsoo.

- “Can I help you?”
- “Yes, a cappuccino for me please and…”
- “A choco latte, please”

The waiter took note with a small smirk that left the young boys kind of embarrassed.

- “Do you want to help me?” asked Jongin after what seemed hours.
- “What do you want?”
- “I want to know what simple life looks like”

* * *

Three months have passed; Jongin and Kyungsoo are now close friends. At first, Kyungsoo couldn’t help but feel odd about this relationship, but as the time passed, he forgot the fact that they were from two totally opposed worlds. He has discovered someone really simple and caring, someone he didn’t think could be dissimulated behind this wild and sexy image of his. Every Saturday, they go to the coffee shop, talking for hours about nothing and everything, the younger always carefully listening to him telling his simple and repetitive life, but it doesn’t seem to bother Jongin. They laugh together, taking a sip on their drink, sharing a donut together. The perfect routine.

But today, once again, Jongin isn’t here. It’s 19:38 PM and he’s still not there. Kyungsoo nervously looked at his watch; 19:39 PM. It has been one week since he last saw him, not daring to come at their last appointment.

What is he doing?

Is everything ok?

He looked at the wide window, the sky already starting to become red.

I guess I was just boring after all.

He silently left the coffee shop and walked to his home, feeling his eyes become wet.

Shit. I knew it.

As he entered the building, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head, eyes so steamy it was hard to see clearly. But he could recognize this face even if he was blind.

- “Jongin…” he whispered.

Before he could say anything else, Jongin abruptly wrapped his muscular arms around the older boy. Kyungsoo simply did the same, bringing their bodies closer.

- “I’m so sorry” Jongin said after a few minutes, or at least it’s what it seemed to them.

For any reply, Kyungsoo suddenly grabbed the other’s hair, pulling his face closer to his. Their lips are now only a few millimeters away from each other’s, their breaths merging together. He closed his eyes as he felt his head going dizzy like it used to do some months ago.

It’s not an idol in front of him; it’s just another simple boy, who still doesn’t know anything about love.

But Jongin was the first to break the distance; he pressed his full lips against Kyungsoo’s, shyly licking the border of the boy’s mouth before finally kissing him with passion.

Kyungsoo broke the kiss, heavy breathing, his cheeks almost as red as the sky.

- “I forgot to tell you something” he said with a smile.
- “Really? I hope it’s not that you have a boyfriend” he replied with one of his smirks.
- “N-No, I’ve never any kind of… relationship before” he said, blushing and avoiding the younger’s eyes.
- “C’mon, I never had one too”

Kyungsoo widened his eyes, his mouth full open.

- “Are you kidding me?!” he hysterically asked.
- “What did you want to tell me?” Jongin added ignoring the boy’s question.
- “I’m actually your hyung, not dongsaeng”

The younger suddenly burst out into laughter.

- “I know” he said between two laughs.
- “Then why did you write this?” Kyungsoo confusedly asked.
- “Because you’re too adorable to be older than me”
