Cat on the Run

So for a while now, John and I had been thinking that we should get another cat as a playmate for Catherine.  Although Catherine the Great is steadily growing out of her biting, aggressive, kitty phase, we still thought it might be good for her to have another cat around to pal around with and help her use up some of her energy.  So, John's animal ( Read more... )

Oh man, I totally went through this same thing when we got our second cat. Bella, the first kitten, was so freaking pissed off at us- she's so territorial, she doesn't even like when my boyfriend sleeps over, never mind another animal. So she and Salem would just stare each other down all the time, all hostile-like, but eventually they learned to get along, and now the real issue is possible future kittens, which is why we need to get them both fixed.

I'm really sorry the black cat ran away, though. That really sucks.

The kitten year can be really hard. Seamus was a terror as a kitten. I had to lock him out of my room for about 7 months because he would try to "play" with me and stick his paws in my mouth, his tongue in my nose, and bite my feet. He calmed down a ton after he turned a year. When Jay and I first got Bella, Seamus was pretty upset, but he got over it and now they are friends. It's so cute, now that it's cold they cuddle together on the couch or our bed. Cats are fickle, but if you want another one just get one, but slowly introduce the new cat to Catherine. You could get some tips from your vet or an animal shelter.
