i am really a sobbing mess now.

seriously, everything about this- god, i cried when gilbird stepped onto his finger. it was like, it's ok alfred, you're not tainted. everything will be ok now. i just... gah. this story. and ivan. just- i love seeing him written this way. and that last line. oh alfred, you really are going to be ok one day.

Somehow while writing that scene, I didn't realize just how much it could mean, that something innocent like a bird would recognize his goodness. You have managed to make me aware of a new depth in my own story; for that you are incredibly awesome.

seriously, as soon as i read that, the water works started. i just pictured this tiny, trusting foot reaching out for alfred's finger and i just- god, that's why i loved this so much. intensional or not, it just- dbjkwdnkjnde you just made everything all better in the end ;_; *hugs fics and never lets go*
