I understand the desire for the other candidate to build a more diverse student body, but I think that could also be accomplished via Endowment Guy (Gal?) -- by enabling more lower-income students to attend, wouldn't that also create a more diverse student body? I say the Endowment Guy wins in many ways: not only would new profs, administrators, and projects bolster the reputation and caliber of Cornell, but the student body would also benefit from the introduction of students who might not otherwise attend because of financial problems. I would vote for endowment hands down. You don't need money to get a more diverse student body, you need money to get money/good profs and stuff.
