N97 does not run Sym^3? I gonna try it and play around with it first. I just would LOVE a phone with a really good camera. Sony Ericsson are the only one having android phone with good camera, and they still run Android 1.6 :/
I got rather pissed off when driving from Trondheim to Oslo and neither my iPhone nor Swans Samsung (Android) managed to get a GPS fix. We were stuck in traffic and i needed to find shortcut, but had to manually enter the starting point. Nokia never gave me this problems.
I'd love a great Android 2.2 camera phone. An N8 running 2.2 would be my dream phone, but no, Nokia's gotta be 'different'.
I've seen S^3, though not gotten to play with it. Seems better, but not enough modernized to be worth it. The 97 showed how poorly they can take care of their users lately, so I'd be leery. No, really, it was a mess. The Mini was better, though...
I guess it depends what you're _really_ looking for. Pushing the ball back to you; Do you want a phone with a big camera? Do you want a phone you can easily get a lot of apps for?(The nokia doesn't seem to have a huge cache of them, but I can be wrong). Do you want it as another GPS?
You write mostly about the N8 - might be because you have played with it more.. For a camera and GPS, I'd suggest the Nokia - since that's your own points - haven't used my desire to GPS with and it doesn't have HDMI.
My husband bought a Nokia N900 and is really pleased with it; he mostly wanted it for the physical keyboard. I have a Nexus One, which I adore as well. HTC has pretty good hardware.

But then again. I might end up changing my mind if I get to play more with one.
