SO, I SAW PANIC AT THE DISCO LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS AMAZING AND MY LIFE IS PRETTY MUCH THE BEST LIFE EVER.
There was a point on Friday morning where I didn't think we'd be able to go, because my mom wasn't coming to get me in the snow, but
psychodragon82 is COMPLETELY AMAZING and was willing to drive to Rhode Island to get me and Shay. We were picked up around 10:30 by her and
dirtyscoundrel, and then we drove to my house in CT to get my sister. The ride was awesome and I feel like we were really hilarious, but I can't remember. All I remember is that the radio volume went up when the car went faster and....it was apparently really funny at the time? AND NOW. I'M LAUGHING NOW.
We got to NYC and went to Starbucks before getting in line, because it was cold and I wanted Chai (I was then too lazy to throw my cup away so I put it on the sidewalk behind the pole and later one of the venue security ladies gave it this nasty look). The best part about line was Zack! He kept telling us about a really strict no cameras/phones policy and said that he'd "work on" getting people under 18 allowed in, which was awesome for my sister. ZACK WAS AWESOME AND WE FANGIRLED HIM AND I AM NOT ASHAMED.
Um, around the time doors were supposed to open (Zack told us they needed more practice, which was more important than us being cold),
wordsaremyfaith found us in line and it was awesome. I miss my Zoeyyyyyy. We were also next to this annoying blonde girl who thought she was the shit, and like...half of livejournal. (After the show, in the lobby, someone yelled "raise your hand if you're NOT from livejournal" and no one raised their hand. OH, LJ.)
It was fucking freezing outside, and it was amazing when we were finally let in. While we were waiting in line for the coat check, this super cute blonde girl with awesome legs walked by (LIKE, I COULD'VE REACHED OUT AND POKED HER) and I was like "that looks like Keltie," but we decided it couldn't be. When we got into the room upstairs, with the stage and the lights and the awesome, she was there too and we were all like "OH MY GOD IT IS HER I WANT TO MAKE OUT WITH HER." Fuck, she's so hot. Pictures don't do her justice. And she's adorable! She went into the VIP area, and we kept watching her because we're creepy, and she's so animated when she talks and she sang along to all the new songs and did the cutest dance with a little girl to I Write Sins. I just. I WANT THEM TO GET MARRIED, MAYBE. ...Keltie and Ryan. Not Keltie and the little girl...
Then we were told to like, be energetic and shit, AND THEN PANIC CAME ON AND IT WAS THE BEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE EXCEPT NOT REALLY BUT CLOSE. They were so close! Spencer came out first and I died and they were all so smiley and Ryan waved like a dork and Brendon had silly hair but it was so cute and Jon Walker is JON WALKER. *breathes* They played...We're So Starving, Nine in the Afternoon, But It's Better if You Do, She's a Handsome Woman, I Write Sins, That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed), and Mad as Rabbits. Every new song was SO GOOD. I think my favorite was Mad as Rabbits? But holy fuck, I don't know. She's a Handsome Woman was HOT. Like, seriously, it started and it sounds all...classic rock/electric guitar-y and I died a little. I remember the chorus was really fucking catchy, too, but I can't remember it. That Green Gentleman gave me this feeling like I was going to cry for a second? It's the song with the lyric "things have changed for me, but that's okay," and we heard Keltie say it was her favorite before it started! Mad as Rabbits was THE SHIT. Jon and Brendon switched instruments, and Ryan sang like, two verses and sounds really good and I know I loved the lyrics I heard, but I...so can't remember them now.
AND THEN THEY WERE DONE WITH THAT, AND LEFT AND CAME BACK FOR THE QUESTION AND ANSWER PORTION. WHICH MADE MY LIFE. I don't remember a lot, like how I don't remember a lot of the between-song banter (there was so much!). When they first sat down, Spencer was like "we're here to freestyle" and Brendon started beat-boxing and it was so cute.
Most of the questions were decent! The first question was about the inspiration for the car. The boys were like "uhhhh" and we all laughed. Jon and Brendon smirked a lot, and Spencer made up something about nature and the love for the environment in his heart. It was fucking awesome.
There was some question about how they choose instruments for songs, and they all looked kind of confused by a real question, and then Ryan said that he just wanted to make sure it looked good, since that was all people cared about. Spencer said that he cared how Ryan's instrument sounded, and then they did this cute half-hug thing. There was a question about their favorite thing about their fans, and Spencer said the chocolate chip cookies, and they all agreed and said all their fans can bake and it rocks. Jon also said that we were really clever, because he saw a lot of us knew the words to the new songs by the second chorus.
Before a girl asked a question, Spencer was all "you were at The Sauce!" It was really cool that he recognized her. Ryan called him a creep, though, which Jon thought was directed at the girl, and he quickly said "that's not creepy! That's loyalty" and it was adorable and I wanted to smoosh his drunken little face.
There was the question about their best on-tour adventure, which started off with some amazing GSF-y comments. Like...something about when the four of them are together, it's always an adventure? And Brendon said that we've probably seen the pictures and then made a face and was like "not THOSE kind of pictures." And then Jon started to tell this story about Brendon and a pirate flag, which Brendon was apparently really against, so he tried to talk over it and tell another story. Ryan started talking then, and said that when they were in another country, they took down their flag and put up the pirate flag, and it was the most political thing they've ever done. Jon said walkie talkies were involved!
There were a lot of intense Jon/Spencer looks, and Brendon put the microphone cord in his mouth at one point and then spit it out, disgusted. Someone yelled something about fanfiction and Spencer yelled back "THAT IS MY SHIT" and Ryan was all "shhh" and Brendon beeped him like, a minute later. It was cute.
For some reason, I think maybe because Jon thanked us or something, he said that we would say "awww" at anything he said. So he was like "Brendon had a cold last week," and we all said "awww." He said "then he got better!" and we cheered. Ryan said that Brendon got a haircut and...we cheered kind of confused, and he was like "but then it grew back!" I FEEL LIKE THIS WILL BE TOTALLY CUT FROM THE DVD WHICH IS SO SAD.
There was a question about leaving friends back home, and Spencer just said they bring them on tour, call them merch guys, and they just hang around and do nothing. OH BOYS.
Um, someone asked what their favorite Harry Potter book or movie was, and Jon said that he was re-reading the first one, but listening to it on audio tape. Which made someone ask why he didn't read it, and Brendon yell out "READING IS FOR LOSERS." Then Spencer said something like "why would you want to listen to your brain voice when you can listen to John Lithgow read to you?" and Ryan gave him this wtf look and said "brain voice?" and it was amazing.
AT THE END, WE MADE BRENDON SING. Someone asked if they could cover any NSync song, which it would be, and Jon hummed and then was like "oh, that's Backstreet Boys," so Brendon belted out "quit playing games with my heart" and said they're Backstreet Boys fans. Someone told him to sing Disney and when he was like "WHICH ONE?" everyone said "ALADDIN." So he turned to Jon, reached out to him, and sang "I can show you the world," which made Jon pull away and it was hilarious. Then they left really quickly, all smiley and adorable.
Then we left! We talked briefly to some people from lj in line to get coats, and then we had an adventure to leave the city that involved taking the same bridge twice and almost hopping like, a median thing. Then we got home? At like, 10, and Shay stayed over my house and it was awesome. We watched Thirteen and stayed up till almost 6 in the morning talking and...stuff. We were on a really fun Panic-high, but it really sucked getting up at 10:30 to bring Shay home and come back to school.
I MISS SHAY. I DON'T CARE THAT I JUST SPENT TEN DAYS WITH HER, I AM GREEDY AND WANT HER BACK.
Yeah, so. My life = awesome. Panic = awesome. WHY IS IT NOT MARCH 25TH YET? :(
