I'm sort of in actual awe that you made this mix in such a short amount of time. Something that flows as incredibly as this does feels like there should be more work put into it, but maybe it's because you didn't overthink it that it has such a perfect flow. The way the songs all bleed into each other is just..wow, it sounds seriously so natural, like if someone made this a CD with these specific transitions in mind. I know that's not an accident because you create jarring mixes when you want to illustrate a point with them, and obviously you create smooth mixes on purpose too. You pay attention to that kind of thing. ffff you are my favorite mixer

Black and Blue - And to me, this song is the quiet way Nick views Demi in the aftermath. She's totally broken down and has to leave the South American tour ("wait for everyone to go away/and in a dimly lit room where you've got nothing to hide/say your goodbyes") And now that she's totally hit the bottom, he just...wants her to fall asleep next to him, to let everything go and just sleep. It's what he dreams about, he wants to be the one to help her, even as he knows he can't do that for her.
The Heart of Life - ohhhhh this song makes me cry. I know, it's the moment where things just start looking up, but that's why it makes me cry. It's this light of hope for Demi. Nick knows things will be okay, that things will get better. He's seeing what life can be for her. That things won't be all better now, ("love turns the whole thing around/no it won't all go the way/it should") but in the end, it'll work out. He is such a fucking positive person, and he's just telling her to hold on. (lol jonas brothers joke
