The thing that bothers me about this, is how we can spend so much money on war, but then get rid of military installations all around the country! Plus, these base closures will hurt our economy. I'm not really sure what we ( Read more... )

Our Shipyard got two awards recently, one of them the day before the list was released, and they're both awards no Shipyard has ever received before. They're the fastest and most efficient one, so if the government wants to save money on bases, why the fuck are they closing the one that already saves them the most money? It makes no sense. It's so upsetting. Half of my family works there. Thank God my dad has 39 years and he can retire...I feel bad for the people that have to go out and find new jobs after this. All 4,000+ of them.

...kind of like what we did at the base in Pearl Harbor before the Japanese bombed it and took out nearly all of our bombers and ships...
