happy belated birthday travis! they theorize that the mutation originated in the northern scandinavian countries and was circulated through the rest of europe during the viking raids. indeed, you can correlate the latitude at which a population is present with the percentage of delta 32 mutation. i wrote a paper on it in grad school. i think i lost the paper though on my now non functional pc. stupid pcs. oh well. as an aside, i might have the mutation in question. :)
