Titus will be just coming from the kitchen, where he's just been having a late snack of milk and biscuits (he might be an earl and a semi-adult, but there are some childhood habits one does not give up lightly). He's in his shirtsleeves, minus his jacket. "Mister Cooper-- Rudy, rather," he says. "I hope I am not late for our meeting: I must admit, I am given to introspection and there are times when I get lost in my own mind, not just in the halls of this place." There might be a shadow of a self-deprecating lilt on those words.

Brian lifts his head. "Oh, not at all," he says, "I was just thinking myself. I understand. It happens." He stands, puts the titles on the table, gauging Titus' height. "Here, I brought a few for you to look at..."

"Many thanks: I am a latecomer to appreciating fine writing, and so I welcome any and all kindly offered texts," he says, stepping closer to the table to survey the titles. He's really not much more than a boy, physically, despite his antiquated manners.

Brian waits, in impression of hovering over Titus' shoulder, and then strikes. His right arm hooks around Titus' neck, the left locking over his shoulder, clamping tight, and tightening, all in the space of a few seconds putting him in a chokehold that should take him into unconsciousness very quickly.

No point in delay, not when he has this window.
