He's a muffin-man. Unsatisfied with his life, he decided to jump into a deep red cup of hot tea, ending his existence this way. As he steps down into the abyss from the tiny edge of the cup, he slips into the boiling liquid, which begins to penetrate into his pores, making his body grow soft. 
As the muffin-man vanished in the tea, he felt no pain
