From amidst the uchiwa wielding fangirls with their blinding penlights and incoherent screeching, he can tell that they're having the time of their lives. Senga is already soaked in sweat (truthfully, that idiot had been drenched since the start) while Tsukada's ever present smile is even more dazzling than Yamamoto's ever seen it before, and they both are radiating with a brilliant air of greatness about them. Their eyes are bright and glittering with the thrill and the excitement. They belong on that stage, and the audience knows it, they know it.
Yamamoto's always been the back dancer, never the star of the show, so he can't help but envy them. Not much recognition comes with being in MAD, and it's not that Yamamoto doesn't feel like he's an important part of Butoukan. (Though, with his near nonexistent roles in most of their songs, he's beginning to think that the higher ups believe so.) But...
Yara's the dance genius, their leader. He choreographs their dances, has the most significant part in their performances. Tsukada is known for his acrobatics, his charismatic smile. Hamanaka never has to do much for his presence to be appreciated, and when he does speak, he has the crowd in stitches. And, there's Senga, who is stupid (very, very stupid), but he's interesting, outgoing. Everyone adores him.
Yamamoto honestly does feel immensely proud to be a part of this unit full of incredibly talented people, but as he ticks off all their qualities one by one in his head, he has to wonder: What does he have that he hasn't already been outshone in? What unique quality is left for him to bring to the group? And, though he's more acknowledged than he was a year ago, he still wants to know when his own time to shine will come.
