Do you think you may seriously do a vow of silence for a period of time? I know of people who have and it totally changed their lives. I'd like to be able to do it sometime. I can't right now because of work. I have to talk on the phone at work.
thank you for the question... the reason you cant is the reason most will not and think of it as crazy. some people are so caught up in thier world that they cant imagine life without speaking some can, but know it wont be an easy trip due to the response they migh thave from the above types of folks and then some acually find the right moment to break away... im waiting for this moment, i can be silent, but since im currently jobless, and feeling pressure to get one, i feel it might be a bit too much to attempt it...if i do get a job, chances are it will drive me "nuts" and i'll walk away and never turn back, and this will be one of those right moments i feel... still too much fear in me
maybe a vow of silence isn't something you must explain to others.........maybe you just need to explain it to yourself. I think an action with that kind of significance and life altering potential doesn't need to be justified to those with speculating or critical thoughts.......It seems to me it is to personal and complex to properly explain at any rate.........not too sound hoky but it seems like a vow of that nature is too near a spiritual level to attempt to dissect the motivation behind it.............some things are instigators......some things just are.......i am rambling
( ... )
i know it is pointless to describe anything to anyone as if the experience will be exactly the same...outside of ones self it might be the same however, our perspectives on life will always differ...no matter how similar things may seem... this is one thing that would be in part of my package of explanation when i decide to do this... but only the experience itself will make one understand completely. then i think once the experience has taken place, the futility of definitions sinks in... followed by questions followed by language in my particular order
