So back when I was still in Massachusetts, after Jason had left, I was watching HGTV with
ultranorsk. "My House is Worth What?" was on, and Rick suggested I sign up for it. Well, I actually got a call back from them in June, and they were interested in us! Sadly it didn't work out because by that time I was gone, and more importantly all the furniture and decor was gone. So that's the sad story of my near brush with HGTV fame.
But, now that we've decided to sell the condo, we hired a stager to do some temporary decor. We're hoping to get a good price that will make back our equity and a good portion of our upgrades, so it wouldn't do to have the desperate look of an empty house. Beyond that, we want a quick sale, so we need to enchant buyers right off the bat.
When I met Karen at the condo two weeks ago, she quickly made me feel like I really was on HGTV. It was hilarious hearing her ideas and criticisms. I pictured those up arrow/down arrow sound effects and imagined the virtual version of her ideas. Fortunately, she was much nicer than that mother/daughter real estate pair on "Designed to Sell."
But just as effective! Today, this "show" came back from commercial as I just got the pictures of the decorated place.

OK, one above the fold:
We think it came out great. Even the new color in the dining room fits in well. (
logrus101 and
arialas may recognize it as Benjamin Moore's "Philadelphia Cream.") It's almost enough to make us want to turn around and move back in!
At any rate, if you or someone you know wants to see it in person, drop me a line. I believe there's an open house next weekend.
