The bartender didn't know what a Manhattan was. That's kind of funny. That reminds me of that movie "Trial and Error". Have you seen it?

I have not, but if it's this one, I can't believe I haven't heard of it before!

That's the one! It's funny! I hadn't heard of it before and then a friend told me I should see it. It definitely has some funny parts, or at least I thought some of it was pretty funny.

Um, wow. I've never had a Manhattan but I have at least heard of it. Plus, I thought it was one of those cocktail standards that all barpeople learned to make.

Sorry you are having Haverhill homesickness. I've been missing Oberlin a lot lately, but that's not really comparable. ;) I thought Pat's closed last year?

Indeed it is; it's as standard as the martini and really very similar. Just Bourbon & Red Vermouth instead of Gin & White Vermouth. And with a cherry instead of an olive! It's for when you want a muscular, manly, grownup drink with a cherry.

Pat's did close; in fact, last year the party was at the Roma. I heard it reopened this year under a different name. No word yet on whether there's Roast Beef or not.

I didn't realize that a Manhattan was regionally exclusive...? Anyway, lucky you for winning such a cool door prize!

Oh it's not supposed to be regional! I've never had this happen before, anywhere! But yeah... the night was redeemed and the cd looks really good!
